As the popularity of these services quickly expanded, Doug decided to successfully sell Northern Lights and focus specifically on Hardscape Rehab.

“It was apparent that there was a need for these types of services in the residential and commercial marketplace provided by a professional company that was committed to understanding the best cleaning and sealing practices, along with proper materials to achieve beautiful results,” he says.

Jack, Doug’s eldest son, came aboard in 2021 and runs many of the daily operations.

“I had a front-row seat to the company’s inception and wanted to be a part of something pretty unique,” Jack says.

As a stand-alone hardscape restoration company, Hardscape Rehab’s recognition throughout the hardscape installation community has grown exponentially.

“We have many paver installation contractors and supply yards contacting us to refer work,” Jack says. “It’s exciting and yet can be daunting at the same time. We purposely have kept the company small because of the detailed nature of the work. That is why most clients will see either me, my dad, or a combination of both on most jobs.”

As a result of the pandemic and the popularity of their services, Hardscape Rehab set up an online estimate form on their website. By uploading a couple of pictures and providing some basic measurements, Hardscape Rehab can produce a detailed email estimate of a project. 

“There wasn’t much good that came out of the pandemic, but creating the online estimate form has saved us countless hours of running around looking at projects,” Doug says. “I’d guess 90% of our work comes from online estimates.

When Doug is not working, you can find him playing golf throughout the South Shore, especially at Weathervane in Weymouth or at The Pine Hills in Plymouth. Jack, on the other hand, is a car enthusiast attending many of the local car shows throughout the area.
